Existing frame and lining can be use with a FireGuard Door¹.

Pre-fitted with Intumescent strip, removing the need to fix this in the frame, reducing amount of work and time of installation.

FireGuard doors are FD30 certified and provide 30-minute fire protection.

Supplied white primed².

These doors are a special order. Manufacturing lead time is approx. 14 days. Once order is confirmed it is not possible to cancel order.

Information

FireGuard internal doors have been designed to fit into existing openings, so its easy to upgrade a door without the extra time and expense associated with changing a door lining or frame.

For a correct fit, installers must measure existing hinge and latch heights. The door must be prepared for latched and hinges (3×3.95" hinges, which are CE marked as required). The doors are always prepared with the intumescent seals fitted to the door. When fitting the latch the small pieces of self adhesive intumescent sheet need to be fixed to both faces of the latch.

If the edges of the door require trimming, simply remove the intumescent strip, trim the door up to a maximum of 0.15" each side, deepen the groove and re-fit the strip using standard PVA glue. Always inspect and replace the intumescent strips if they are damaged in any way. The bottom edge can be trimmed up to 6mm.

The top of the FireGuard doors must not be trimmed.

² All surfaces must be treated (sealed) at the same time to prevent distortion from moisture imbalance. A base coat or paint primer are in themselves not a seal.
